New Years Resolution

This year I resolve to be more organized. I ran into a friend at Walmart the other day. It was my third trip of the day, it was her first of the week. I told her I felt like I spent half my life there. She said she goes grocery shopping every two weeks, every payday. Geez, I want to be more like that. So, I here now resolve to be more organized. Figured putting it out there would help motivate me.

Van Olli Mortimer

I've finally figured out that life is like a roller coaster. You are allowed small decisions when it comes to this coaster, like which car you can choose, and what you want to wear while riding and even who you get to sit next to. But what you don't get to do is control the ride. Someone else is in control, and we just have to decide how we will react to the turns and bumps that are a part of that ride.
A huge bump on my roller coaster came a few weeks ago when we found out through a series of ultrasounds that our baby boy would not make it. Really, this may be the biggest bump I've yet faced. We delivered him on September 9th, and he was one of the most beautiful and perfect babies I have ever laid eyes on. He lived for only a short time and Andy was able to give him a name and a blessing. We named him Van Olli, and he will be ours forever. I love and miss him more than I could ever have imagine. My heart is broken. I know that time heals, but more than that, Heavenly Father heals.
We have not been alone through this. We have felt the strength of everyone's prayers, and the strength of the Lord. And each day gets a little bit easier.

I should start playing the lottery

I really should become a betting woman because we are having a little baby boy. Piper = excited, Hatch = excited, mom and dad = excited, milli = devastated.

Matchy Church Day

Andy and I unintentionally wore matchy church outfits. Isn't that sooooo cute?

First Day of School

Piper started Middle School today. 7th Grade. The thing she is most excited about? Wearing her first pair of skinny jeans.Hatch started 2nd grade. Thing he is most excited about? Riding his bike to school.

I asked Milli what we should do all day, she said, "clean". Oh boo.

Surprised? So were we!

Surprise, baby number 4 on its way! 18 and a half weeks along. Tomorrow we get to have a peeky and see if we can figure out who this little one is. If I were a betting woman, which I'm not, but if I were, I'd say there's a little boy in there.

A Word to the Wise

If you are ever thinking of breaking into the Mortimer's cabin, DON'T! Because first, we've got these three fierce ninjas:

And second, we've got this lady who knows her way around a gun.
